Tõnu Kaljuste: ‘I’ve realised that Rudolf Tobias’s oratorio ‘Joonase lähetamine’ (‘Jonah’s Commission’), later named „Joonas“(‘Jonah’), is a star creation of Estonian classic music via the Vardo Rumessen’s version. We have not heard how the original score of ‘Jonah’ sounds. I think that as 2018 is the Year of Cultural Heritage, it is in every way suitable for the presenattion of the oratorio’s original.’
